I don't think i have ever really seen Spinosaurus and therizinosaurus paired up i think they would be pretty evenly matched on land go for it.

What does everyone think of Megatherium vs Acrocanthosaurus or Megatherium vs Mapusaurus for tomorrow? I know the dinos are bigger but I think they'll need the size advantage because their weaponry is not the best for dealing with chain mail armor

Ground sloth "chain mail" is just a bunch of tiny osteoderms embedded in the skin. Anything with decent enough jaw power and raptorial teeth should be able to bite through it.
And I've already made a whole post about which ground sloths probably did or didn't have dermal ossicles. Megatherium is not one of them.

Oh. Yes, you did. I searched and found it.
I will not make that matchup then.

How many scalloped hammerhead sharks would be necessary to be a match for a great white shark? On a related note, is that matchup even sensible? I've been thinking about this match since I was a little boy, but it is very similar to mako vs great hammerhead and thus perhaps redundant.

@creature
I think 8 would make a good matchup; despite them being about half the weight of the GWS, I think the numbers can make up for that. And I think it's distinct since it has a number of smaller sharks vs a bigger shark, both of different species to the other matchup, as opposed to 1 on 1.

Is Hyaenodon horridus vs spotted hyena a good matchup?

Depending on the population, the hyena might have quite a weight advantage, but I'd say they overlap enough for it to be fair.
As for the hammerheads vs great white, I've just checked the profiles again and remembered that scalloped hammerheads are much tinier than I remember. Add in the fact that only juveniles live in large schools and I'd need several hundreds for it to be even remotely fair. Maybe something smaller than a great white shark would be in order.

I think a tiger shark or bull shark would be a fairer fight

sharkboy101 I moved your post to this thread (which I also decided to move to the IC subforum). If you have a thread idea (but also if you aren't sure if it's a good idea), you post it in this thread. Although, C. megalodon vs. Purussaurus is a horrendous mismatch.

Since Tylosaurus vs Deinosuchus was kind of a blowout, maybe a smaller crocodilian would be better How does Crocodylus thorbjarnarsoni vs Tylosaurus sound?
