Verdugo (anyone else can answer but Verdugo seems to be an expert so this may be best to ask him) What do you think of Rhizodus vs Spinosaurus? You viewed Rhizodus as a fair match for Dunkleosteus which in turn was viewed as a match for Spinosaurus on here, so maybe Rhizodus vs Spinosaurus can work.

Is sarcosuchus vs Titanoboa a good fight?

sharkboy101Well, no. Sarcosuchus is too large. But like I said earlier we do have Titanoboa vs saltie

creature386 (anyone else can answer but creature seems to be an expert in this regard so it may be best to ask him) How many African wild dogs do you think are a better match for a (32 kg) Cape leopard? 2 doesn't quite seem like enough but 3 seems like overkill at the same time

I don't think I'm an expert here. Both time I made matches with wild dogs vs leopards, I picked either too many or too few. I'm leaning towards two, with regards to your question though.

Well, I'll post it tomorrow with 2, and if the consensus is that they are not enough I can add more as needed

Rhamphosuchus IMAGE 11 meters, maybe more 6-7 tons, maybe more Weapons: jaws Pliosaurus IMAGE 10 meters 6-11 tons Weapons: jaws For what it’s worth, 11 m for the Rhamphosuchus probably holds water, as far as the few fragments we know of it go at least, see my post on the crocodylian size thread. Regarding Pliosaurus macromerus, assuming Forrest’s guess that the cumnor mandible was a metre shorter than restored, that would put it at just about 2 m, and perhaps just about 8.5 m TL, but it remains to be seen what size that mandible would really be, that was just a guess, and potentially an upper (or lower, depending on the viewpoint) bound one. If it is really that much shorter, then I am not sure if this is actually the largest specimen of P. macromerus out there, as the Stretham specimen has an 84 cm humerus and 96 cm femur (but limb elements are potentially even more variable with respect to TL than skulls in Pliosaurs), and the Stewartby pliosaur has a restored hindlimb span of 6.4 m and TL of about 11 m. If sizes close to the latter are accurate for P. macromerus, then it is probably considerably more massive than the crocodilian.

Well, with good material it most likely is not a mismatch.
I'll see how the thread progresses

Does gryposuchus vs Titanoboa work? Should work - 1.7 tons vs 2 tons. I'll make it for you, or you can make it yourself if you want.

I try to avoid making matchups these days, but I am considering one at the moment. What does everyone think of an African bush elephant with short tusks (e.g. something like this-> or this->) versus some equal sized sauropod (maybe something like Brontomerus)?

Eh, others might disagree, but I'm not sure if making that would be a good idea. Seems like too much of a stalemate.
