at least until it got bloody. should also mention that leopard lizards are on the oposite end of the sexual dimorphism as the collared lizard, with larger females and smaller males. I don't see how that would alter the match honestly. I said that more for the sake of just letting people know more than anything. Collared lizards will also prey on smaller lizard species and while not quite as adept at it as leopard lizards, smaller lizards can make up a decent portion of a collared lizards diet, both are also capable of taking small rodents (male collared lizards almost always seem to be the ones taking these more impressive prey items)

I guess I'd favor the collared lizard now since (not trying to be sexist here) male reptiles are normally more muscular & aggressive than females unless significantly smaller.

Leopard lizard also show limited forearm movement used to control prey (if a lizard bites them they will try and push the lizards head ) Both of these lizards can be cannibals.

Yes but isn't it a general rule males are more muscular while females have more fat to cushion eggs and babies and what not?

true but a large female leopard lizard would be bigger than a large male collared lizard. Anndd I switch back to the leopard lizard now. its a pretty close match but generally I would agree at maxium sizes I would favour the leopard lizard but at parity I would favour the collared lizard. If I do another of these I think Ill do something with the tokay (by a wide margin the most badass gecko)

This one is close, from what i've seen Leopard lizards can be gnarly, and display saurophagic tendencies. Crotaphytids have impressive jaws for their size as well.
Don't really know who to favor..
