Bucky vs MUCPv-Ch1, the side of the T rex vs Giganotosaurus debate that T rex fanboys don't look on, preferring to use the holotype, Stan, or Sue, which are all above average and even maximum. Yet this is a perfectly valid way to look at it like broly said. Both skeletals by Hartman; Bucky is based on AMNH 5027 I recommend ignoring the scalebars as AMNH was rescaled to match Bucky's dimensions (10 meters, downscaled from 11.8) If that T. rex is really 10 m in length, the Giganotosaurus is 14.5 m long. Why is it that every time I bother to measure one of your comparisons, there’s something like this going on?

Why is it that every time I bother to measure one of your comparisons, there’s something like this going on? That's funny. I could have SWORN each were scaled correctly. Maybe I could include a multi meter scalebar with charts I make that aren't scaled directly in accordance with the 2 images.

I told you it would be a good idea to include a scalebar months ago (for one, it’s very confusing if you leave scalebars in that aren’t actually the size they are supposed to be because you scaled the pictures differently, all the more so because you almost never give a proper description of what measurements you scaled them to), but that’s not a replacement for actually scaling your animals correctly.

I thought you meant a lone scalebar and not a full on one.
Nonetheless I will for sure include them.

Alright, they were very scrappy before, so here's a better one: Triceratops vs Mapusaurus, skeletals by Hartman and Franoys respectively. On top is BYU 12183 vs MCF-PVPH-108.202, on the bottom is UCMP 12861 vs MCF-PVPH-108.145 I recommend ignoring the scalebars for the second comparison as I have scaled each animal up (3 vs 2.7 meters SH for the Trike and 13.6 vs 12.47 meters for Mapu) from what it would otherwise be, but the first comparison's scalebars are fine

Err the top Triceratops is already 3.4 m tall based on the scalebar (measuring the scalebar very generously at 63 px, it is probably shorter, making the Triceratops even more oversized, but it cannot be measured precisely because the image is so blurry).
I still don’t get why you upload your comparisons, open them in your browser, then screenshot them, delete the original, and upload the screenshot instead. I also don’t get why you don’t just delete the scalebar (and human) if they aren’t the right size anyway, and include an accurate scale instead.

1: Err the top Triceratops is already 3.4 m tall based on the scalebar (measuring the scalebar very generously at 63 px, it is probably less, but it cannot be measured precisely because the image is so blurry). 2: I still don’t get why you upload your comparisons, open them in your browser, then screenshot them, delete the original, and upload the screenshot instead. 1: I scaled the Triceratops by SH and Mapusaurus by skull length using the 10 cm scalebar in your Mapusaurus skull deviation which I did not include in the final product. However, I had to shrink each image a couple of times (shrink image function on Word) for the final product, so maybe I shrank the Triceratops one too few times. 2: For higher resolution as per your earlier requests

2: The resolution doesn’t get any better that way, you only blow up the image, making it blurry, but you cannot add any image information where there is none (that’s just an urban myth created by crime dramas). Just this once, here’s how to do it properly: compare: See the difference? You can read the text, and measure things accurately in the first picture. There also aren’t any inaccurate scalebars in it, and the animals are actually scaled to the size they are supposed to be. Attachments:

Oh. Poop. The size comparison is very much appreciated but I have no idea how to do that in word. creature386, you said you would be able to help me out with Imgur. Maybe now would be a good time for that?

This has nothing to do with where you upload the images, it has to do with how you make them. I already posted a very simple tutorial on how to do size comparisons on the basics thread, maybe it would be a good idea to take another look at it? Then perhaps the animals in your comparisons would at least occasionally be properly scaled.

Shouldn't the foreground specimen be the one weighing ~8.6 tonnes considering its smaller dimensions?

^Yes, I noticed that as well. The dimensions are mixed up.

I always go to my gallery, then I go to "add images" and drag an image file onto my browser.

You mean you can upload screenshots to Imgur? That helps.

Yeah, you didn't think you actually make images on Imgur, did you? It's just for bringing files from your computer into the Internet.
