Another fact that adds to the tigers supremacy over the Brown bear, is that both the Russians and the Chinese, widely regard the tiger, not the Brown bear, but the Amur tiger to be the undisputed Lord, King and Master of both the Russian taiga and Manchurian taiga. Both the Siberian tiger and Brown bear, co-exist in Russia, as well as Manchuria ( Northeastern China ). Despite the Brown bear being larger and heavier than the Amur tiger, the Russians and Chinese do not consider the Brown bear to be the "King of the Forest". The tiger is widely acknowledged to be the undisputed King of the taiga.
Here are countless sources, which easily prove that the tiger is widely regarded and acknowledged by the Russian and Chinese to be the supreme ruler and master of the taiga!
"The indigenous populations had respected the tigers, seeing them as the masters of the taiga"

Few beings can rival the tiger in power - he is the Master of the Taiga:

WHO LIVES IN THE TAIGA
In the taiga brown bears can meet their southern counterpart, the Himalayan bear. Here you can find Amur gorals, sika deers, martens, Manchurian hares and other endemic, rare and endangered animal species.
The master of the cedar-broadleaf forests is the Amur tiger, one of the largest predators on the planet:

The tiger was the indisputable king of the taiga - until the advent of man. Native Russian and Siberian ethnic groups respected and admired the tiger as the ruler of all beasts:

John Vaillant, a renowned author/researcher, travelled to the Russian far east and personally interviewed many renowned Russian biologists, undisputed authorities, experts, naturalists, forest rangers, hunters, locals and native Russian peoples. In his book, not only does Vaillant talk about the tigers dominance ( Regular predations and brutal killings ) over the Brown bear, but he also mentions how the indigenous Russian people widely regard the Amur tiger to be the undisputed Lord of the taiga.
There is no creature in the taiga that is off limits to the tiger, it alone can mete out death at will. Amur tigers have been known to eat everything from salmon and ducks to adult Brown bears:
Every major ecosystem has produced a singularly formidable predator to rule over it. In the Ussuri taiga, the Amur tiger is the supreme ruler and most lethal manifestation of this creative impulse. - Indigenous Russian peoples have always understood and acknowledged the tigers supremacy:
The tiger, as indigenous Russian peoples know it, is the undisputed lord of the taiga:

Native Russian people conceive of the tiger as a supreme being and know it to be a "Consummate hunter" (Perfect hunter) and the undisputed lord of the taiga:

Here's a video of John Vaillant talking about the tigers dominance over the Brown bear, as well as the Amur tigers total dominance over its domain:
John Vaillant states: "The tiger has a inborn sense of total dominance over its domain. Russian brown bears are the equivalent of our Grizzly, the tiger attacks, kills them and eats them on a regular basis. I've seen video of a tiger charging a helicopter. So they have this inborn sense that there's nothing out there thats bigger and badder then me and they act on that."

Interesting info from Russian Far East wildlife tour operator/owner - Olga Krasnykh
She states that the tiger is the KING of the taiga and has expelled Brown bears from those area's, just like how tigers expelled all wolves:
So you see, just like countless other sources from Russian authorities, biologists, hunters, natives and even documentaries state - the Amur tiger is clearly dominant over the Brown bear and is widely regarded as the UNDISPUTED LORD and master of the taiga. Even Olga Krasnykh who lives and works in the Russian far east taiga, has observed and noticed the tigers clear dominance over the Brown bear too.
In other parts of Russia, where Amur tigers don't exist, Brown bears are abundant, but in areas where Amur tigers inhabit, Brown bears are less in number than in other regions and areas. This indicates that Brown bears usually avoid areas where tigers inhabit, in fear of being killed and devoured, like wolves do, because tigers are major predators of Bears.

A tiger will ambush a bull buffalo. A tiger will ambush a bull gaur. A tiger will ambush a wild boar. When hunting ungulates, the tiger chooses adult prey. But when it comes to brown bears, the tiger chooses juveniles usually at least 100 pounds less in weight than himself. These are bears out for the first time without Mama Bear's protection. Three, four, and five year old bears. Only in rare cases have tigers been so bold as to ambush a mature grizzly she-bear. Even then it often turns into a difficult struggle for the tiger. Never will a tiger choose a mature male grizzly as potential prey. Never will a tiger be willing to go head-to-head with a mature male grizzly in the wild.

www.learnrussianineu.com/russian-bear-myths-realityA Russian bear is an animal that Russia has been associated with in the West for many centuries already. A lot of myths and stereotypes about the Russian bear have appeared for about 400 years. Let’s try to find out how these stereotypes appeared and what bears’ life in Russia is like. There are many bears in Russia. The most popular one is a brown bear which is known around the world as a “Russian bear”. A bear is the biggest and strongest animal on the territory of Russia and northern Europe, therefore Russians call it the forest (taiga) master. The most famous Russian bear is the Moscow bear, Mishka, that was the mascot of the 1980 Olympics. The task of this extremely cute cub was to help foreigners feel more confident and comfortable in Russia and change their attitude towards the USSR.
