Kaimere has concepts that are surprisingly satisfying to see. I’ve seen art of predatory theropods stabbing ground sloths and entelodonts with huge claws.

A nitpick I have with kaimere is that the author overhypes the usefulness of intelligence. But that's an issue a lot of spec fiction fall for.
