Well... when you have animal planet programs that say gorillas can snatch two tonnes, gorillas are definitely on my list of the animals most overrated by the general public.
lol! bears having bones and muscles denser than steel.

There was one person that claimed a gorilla can pull an elephants tusks off and stab the elephant with them, and another claimed that a single gorilla can tear the limbs off of 9 tyrannosaurus while bench pressing 85 lb dumbells. Gorillas are just as overrated as hell, imho the most overrated of all animals.

Colossal and giant squids are often overrated. They are not the fast, activive, vicious hunters, sort of oversized versions of Humboldt squids, but rather lethargic predators, only needing a very small amount of food to survive. There's probably no battle against bull sperm whales, there's a predator swallowing a 80-100 times lighter prey leaving only some marks and scratches on its agressor.

Insects are massively overrated when it comes to physical strength.
People think that them lifting ~50x their own body weight is the equivalent of a human lifting several tonnes-force of weight(when in actuality, a ~70-kilogram human lifting a single tonne-force is the equivalent of a ~1-milligram ant lifting about ~5887.55 times it's own weight), and that they're the strongest animals lol(when they're actually among the weakest).
Seriously, nature programs, stop perpetuating this nonsense. When ants can lift more than ~5000-6000x their own weight, then I can believe that their lifting feats are equivalent to humans lifting cars and such.

I know right? I always find it amusing when science-related channels conveniently ignore the square cube law.
The exoskeleton of an insect works well at their size scale, but they would be screwed if they were ~70 kg.

the tiger is easily much more overrated, I've seen them favored over a elephants, and kodiak bears. I have never seen such fanboyism for the lion. Incorrect, lions are more overrated than tigers. There are some guys in AVA forum (Asad, Bold Champ, Starfox, Catlion, etc.) that DO believe that a lion can not only easily kill elephants and kodiac bears, but also rhinos, some dinosaurs and even blue whales!!! (yes, Bold Champ said this in one occasion). The funny thing is that there are records of big prides of lions killing sub-adult or female African elephants, while there are records of a pairs of Bengal tigers killing full grow male elephants in India and Nepal. There are some records of lions and tigers killing brown bears in captivity (Kodiac?) and there are the well-known accounts of Amur tigers that directly predate brown bears in the Russian Far East, verified by scientists. Big cats can be overrated, but at the end of the day, there is evidence that these “tales” are indeed true.

Also, that some favor a pitbull over a grey wolf at averages....because its gameness and fighting prowess could help it overcome the wolf's size advantage, strength and better bite lol... admittedly i thought that way my self once. at parity i believe a good APBT may stand a chance..

(yes, Bold Champ said this in one occasion). Killing blue whales...Yeah, it is well known fact that whaling ships used lions tied to their harpoons to kill whales. How can people convince themselves into such bullshits...

Wolves are underrated. On Wikipedia it states the average for NA wolves and Eurasian ones is 79-85lbs for males.... never have I wanted to slap someone for posting on Wikipedia so badly.....
