Ever think its because they are a lot bigger? And even then what are they fighting? Pets why because no one uses gsd in pit fights and I doubt they often come into contact with the ones used for hunting things like boar. Yes the larger dogs usually dominate fight at least begining as it wears on the other dog usually looses its spirit or runs out of stamina and then it goes the other way. This is how pit bulls beat bigger stronger dogs. Gsd are not supposed to be used against other animals on the police force, just to take down humans, nice try though. Pit bulls are not used as police dogs because they are dumb in comparison to more frequently used breeds (gsd, rottweiler, other similar Shepard breeds) it has everything to with trainability not formidability Noo sorry 1. You would think the worlds best fighter would dominate a GSD when supposedly it dominates larger dogs right? Yet on avg GSD dominate not pits. Pits were used in matches cause theyve been bred to fight to the death which is more a mindset than actual physical ability. Its like fighting a crackhead. 2. Nice try but no. Police GSD are used to take down humans yes but that doesn't stop them from attacking the fugitives pets which can be aggressive ass pits and bigger dogs. There's a instance of a police GSD fighting a pit and not letting go till the owner shot the dog and another of one dominating a rottie. Nice try tho. 3. No pitbull are actually very intelligent. It's when you game breed them that they become savages, they just lack the traits required to take down men and their pets or aggressive pets. But i digress. All in all a GSD dominates a pitbull rain sleet or snow. Even if a male GSD did average around a pits I'd still say it'd win.

Hmm... apbt were specifically bred to fight other dogs and their morphological features where selected thusly, gsd were not bred to fight other dogs. Back on topic. I can certainly see how height could be an advantage, not necessarily a deciding advantage, but an advantage. The opponents neck and spine would be more accessible, it would also make it easier to pin the other animal to the ground if you start out on top. It also has stability disadvantages. A lower build would have advantages as well, such as balance, center of gravity, and direct access to vital areas. A lot of dogs have a winning record against the "game" pit. I don't see how one can say a pit will win just cause it was bred to. House pet rotts have dominated them before. The only thing pits have against larger dogs is they've been bred to be psychos immune to pain. Yet every so often they STILL get beaten.

All in all a GSD dominates a pitbull rain sleet or snow. Even if a male GSD did average around a pits I'd still say it'd win. 1: pit bulls are smaller so they get tossed around at the beginning, they win in the end because they have amazing stamina and don't give up easily. 2: yes they are only sent against people, sometimes dogs are there but the police don't want there dogs getting hurt, so they never send them against other dogs on purpose. then cases you bring up are pointless because we are not talking about rottweilers and its not surprising that some buttholes pet pitbull got a little roughed up by larger working police dog. 3: no, they are not, they are not stupid either but compared to dogs like gsd and rotties they are the slow kid in the class. They fall far behind them in trainability and that's the important part.

Yea we're getting off topic. This isn't GSD vs Pitbull. If you want to continue the debate we can take it to the other forum.

I'd say the leopard wins if it can attack early and the AWD wins of it gets dragged on.
