Mental illness denial is probably the type of anti-science that I have the most personal hatred against. Many in my family are into it and I feel like I suffer the consequences.

It drives me to my wits’ end when people criticize a form of media for being offensive...when the point of it was either to be precisely that or to convey a message to not act in such a manner.

Mammal fanboyism against reptiles, dinosaurs and birds. I know that I'm late, but.... Mammal fanboyism against reptiles, dinosaurs, and birds is some of the worst fanboyism of all, especially the first 2. As for the worst mammal vs bird fanatics: theworldofanimals.proboards.com/thread/762As for the worst mammal-reptile fanatics: look at any carnivoran vs predatory reptile thread. Ew. As for the worst mammal vs dinosaur fanatics......

Anyway, I do not like Quora, at least as much as these animal forums.
Most of the replies or arguments there are just some guy's opinion or anecdote.

That makes neither of us a fanboy either way. For the reasons I gave in the thread, that's why I think they are more likely than a head on fight

The amount of misogyny on Carnivora currently pisses me off. I wonder how it would look like if the forum was less of a sausage fest. Can you give some examples of misogyny there?

People who believe themselves knowledgeable enough to make wide-sweeping generalizations about the middle east, but aren’t educated enough to know that there’s a difference between persian and arabian (or to find Iran on a map for that matter).

This is something has REALLY ticked me off, and has earned ranchers an official spot on the list of things I despise.

smedz You mean ALL ranchers? Sounds a bit exaggerated Yep, I know it sounds exaggerated, but I will explain. Ranchers let their animals roam wherever, and you saw how those people reacted to Wielgus's research. So he tries to help, and that's how he's thanked. Go figure. I have no problems with farmers (since they know how to use the amazing things called FENCES)

That's fair, I suppose.
Another thing that ticks me off quite a bit is twisting facts in a debate and/or misrepresenting information. Some of the worst examples I've seen of this on Discord and AVA sites are included but not limited to: -Average Tyrannosaurus = CM 9380, Stan, or Sue -Jaguars average 100 kg -Crocodilians on land make slugs look like jackrabbits -Megalotitan's Mamenchisaurus sinocanadorum = max size for the species -Individual variation is a one way street in DOWNWARD size -Carnosaurs don't hold a candle to same sized tyrannosaurids -Mammoth/mastodon tusks are good for goring
