A simple start, which was, more likely, the biggest of them all, and in consequence, the most powerful ?
Sarcosuchus, Deinosuchus or Purussaurus ?
Claims, rigorous or not, appear quite contradictory...

I'd place bets on Sarcosuchus, it's average size seems to be quite a bit higher than either Deinosuchus or Purusssaurus.

Claims are very contradictory, that's true. What I've hard lately was that Deinosuchus wasn't that big after all, and might be closer to 11m than to 12m at max size and significantly lower on average. but generally, i think all of them are in a similar ballpark.

You have a source about that ? Everything is downsized...

Posts by blaze and others on carnivora. I'll see whether I'll dig them up, but not now, or maybe blaze does (yes, I am veery lazy when it is about finding old posts). Yeah, it's sad. Not too long ago they were said to be 13-15m, even 18m for Purussaurus.

In skull size, they all seem roughly comparable. P. is a bit shorter, but more massive. I definitely have to do more research on giant crocodylomorps tough.

It was about that size if I remember correctly. Why? The others were a bit longer than that.

Purrussaurus' skull seems to be a bit shorter, but obviously broader and stockier, and it was a caiman, so its propoertions weren't the same. I took the freedom to quote Blaze's comparison from carnivora: VERY IMPORTANT: The figures in the scale are skull lenght along the sagittal plane (Pmx-Qj), whcih is apparently the standart for crocs and also often used in other animals (eg. Carrano et al., 2012 for C. saharicus). The maximum lenght is usually greater than this dimension. Link: carnivoraforum.com/single/?p=8498225&t=9390966

Very good information man. Have you sources though listing size for Purussaurus and Deinosuchus as well ?
