on the filip side the hippo would not know to avoid the cougars claws . plus i think it would as they are intellegent enough to avoid being bitten by american alligators in the wild 2; i did not say the hippo was fat i said most of its body is made of fat 3;no the hippo is mostly bulk not muscle 1: No, it has leopard experience. Moreover, the claws pale in comparison to the jaws, and intelligence is moot. We have went over this. 2: They've got a fair amount of muscle, and even at parity the hippo has a good chance 3: Bulk and muscle cannot be differentiated like you said. Bulk is more muscle in an area 1: a cougar is larger , heavier and stronger than a leopard so it is diffrent 2:ok i guess i can agree with that 3:i mean the hippo has more fat and the cougar has more muscule

Leopards average 55 kg, while mountain lions average 60 kg. Rather irrelevant 3: Not in absolute terms.

That kind of proves what I've said. The size difference here is rather irrelevant. not really as you can see the cougar is a bit bigger.

5 kilograms of difference. What difference would that make against a hippo over 200 kg?

5 kilograms of difference. What difference would that make against a hippo over 200 kg? yes as these hippos may be used to taking on african leopards but a cougar is a bigger and stronger leopard , it is not the same

I could reiterate by saying mountain lions have no experience with the hippos and won't know what to do until it's too late
