^Wonder how cervid hooves compare to horse hooves.
Studies I read have suggeste that zebras are far more formidable than wildebeests so I was under the impression that equines had hooves that were especially suited for blunt trauma.

I've gotten that impression too from what other people have told me, and to be honest, I still think that's generally the case (although, there are deer and antelope species that I think are more fighty than the others). Although, maybe it boils down more to behavior than anything else.
