There is no confirmed account of a tiger ever killing a bear bigger or heavier than himself. Naturally, this coincides with the fact that there is no confirmed account of a tiger ever killing a full-grown male brown bear - in the wild - under any conditions. However, there is at least two confirmed accounts of brown bears killing and eating adult male tigers.

About Post #220: Over at "Carnivora" Taipan refuses to accept this report as fact. That boy is an idiot, plain and simple. The most well known biologist reported those cases so of course they are verified. If this is not verified, then nothing is. This report came out in Oct.16, 2016 by the Wildlife conservation society, (WCS Russia), The Siberian Tiger project.
BROWN BEARS SOMETIMES ATTACK TIGERS. THERE ARE 12 KNOWN CASES OF BROWN BEARS KILLING TIGERS. SYSOEV, 1950, SYSOEV 1960, ABRAMOV 1962, RAKOV 1970, GOROKHOV, 1973, KOSTOGLOD 1981). THE SIX DEAD TIGERS WERE ADULTS, 4 WERE CUBS, 2 CASES NOT SPECIFIED. ALL THE TIGERS WERE EATEN. Understand that this report is from the Wildlife conservation society, (WCS Russia), The Siberian Tiger project. If not confirmed, this would not be in their report. As it stands, we have 2 tigers confimed killed by brown bears. Each of the two estimated at 4 years old - young adult.

Face to face at average sizes, the bear is the logical choice.

I think the bear will win almost 8 or 9/10 times against a Siberian tiger at average weights!

Show me one single peer reviewed, documented, confirmed account of a tiger ever killing a full-grown (12+ yrs old) male brown bear. There is not even one confirmed account. In fact, the oldest confirmed tiger-killed male brown bear I have thus far found was a sub-adult 5-year-old bear. Male Brown Bear / Male human equivilant: 0 until his first year - cub / from baby to toddler to young child. 1 year until he reaches 2 - yearling / child roughly 8 yrs. old. 2 years old until he reaches 4.5 years old - adolescent or juvenile. / from 9 to 12 yrs. old. 4.5 years old until he reaches 8 - subadult. / teenage boy from 13 to 15 yrs. old. 8 years old until he reaches 12 - young adult./ teenage boy from 16 to 19 yrs. old. 12 years old until he reaches 20 - full-grown male bear. / from 20 to 60 yr. old man. 20 years old and after - elderly (over the hill). _______________________________________________ domainofthebears.proboards.com/thread/1459/biggest-male-brown-confirmed-tiger
